JUNIOR PATHWAY
Games are home and away. Home games could be any ground in the City of Cockburn, away games could be any ground within the South West Metropolitan Association. Players must wear a Jandakot Lakes Junior Cricket Club Uniform and full cricket protection gear when playing.
Our Cricket Blast programmes are held on Friday evenings at Atwell Reserve for 10 weeks from November to February with a break over the school holidays.
Stage 1 Cricket is U10s, U11s and U13s Girls and played Sundays at 8am and 20 overs a side. Stage 1 involves playing with a softer ball, ensuring a safer experience for the players. Each participant will be given equal opportunities with both bat and ball, fostering an inclusive environment for all skill levels.
Stage 2 Cricket is U12s, U13s, U15s Girls and played Saturdays at 8am and 30 overs a side. Stage 2 the game becomes slightly more challenging. It incorporates the concept of "out when you’re out," where a player is eliminated from the game after being dismissed. This stage introduces a higher level of competition and encourages players to refine their skills, although also suitable for beginners who would like to try cricket for the first time.
Stage 3 Cricket is appropriate for players with developed skills who are ready to apply them in the full dimensions of the game. It is aligned to adult cricket on a full length wicket with 11 players and a 156g ball.
U14 games are played on Saturday morning at 8am and are 35 overs a side. There is also a mid-season T20 competition played as double headers on Saturday mornings.
U15 and U17 games are played on a Sunday morning from 8am and are 35 and 40 overs respectively. Both these age groups also participate in midweek T20 competitions under lights from late November.
